Works in the highs area but not so well with thelows

Elaine Johnsen

I am in my mid-60s and have moderate hearing loss. That is, I have substantial loss but only in the higher frequencies. I rarely notice I have any problem until I engage in conversation and then the problem of comprehension can become embarrassing. About five years ago I bought myfirst hearing aids (HAs) at a national big box store. The HAs were the store's house brand, although they are of German manufacture. While cheaper than many other comparable HAs out there, the pair still cost, as I recall, about $1500. I perspire heavily and after about a year these HAs failed due to damage from sweat. The retailer replaced them under warranty, and while the HAs are now no longer under warranty, the retailer has offered to replace them again at less than full retail price. That is still more than just lunch money, and to prolong the HAs operating life I stopped regularly wearing them. I missed having hearing amplification full time though, and once out of the habit of wearing them, I would often forget to put them in for events where I needed better hearing. I started looking at Personal Sound Amplifier Products (PSAP) to use as utilitarian, every day appliances while saving my better HAs for special (and drier) occasions. The Britzgo 1704s look like they will serve very well in this purpose.

Best for the money

This is a very very good hearing amplifier I was told by my doctor that I needed hearing aids in both ears I can't afford to buy hearing aids so I tried some hearing amplifiers they didn't work so well so I purchased the britzgo 220 amplifier for my left ear cuz it's the worst one it works very well it is nice to hear again in my left ear thank you so much
